Kim Dong-ho Named Honorary Pusan Director

Festival Co-Founder Shepherded Event for 15 Years

SEOUL – Kim Dong-ho, the founding director of Pusan International Film Festival who announced his resignation at this year’s event, was appointed as the festival’s honorary director in a general meeting of the festival committee held Wednesday.

Upon announcing Kim’s appointment, the committee held his retirement ceremony.

Kim served as festival director since Pusan launched in 1996. Prior to his position, he was the chairman of the Korean Film Council and deputy minister of Culture, Tourism and Sports, formerly known as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. He also served as a jury member for numerous international film festivals including Cannes and San Sebastian.
