'King's Speech' Oscar Noms Bump Ticket Sales 76% on Fandango

Ticket sales for The King's Speech have jumped 76% on Internet vendor Fandango since the Oscar nominations were announced Tuesday.

The company compared single day sales this Tuesday and Wednesday (until noon) to last week's sales during the same time frame for its findings.

Fandango editor Chuck Walton said, "The Academy Award nominations clearly gave the film a little Oscar bump." Walton continued, "On Tuesday, this little movie moved up to the top slot as Fandango's top ticket-seller of the day, a nice feat considering the film opened more than eight weeks ago."

The King's Speech earned 12 Oscar noms Tuesday, including best picture, best supporting actor and actress, and best actor for frontrunner Colin Firth.
