Klein staying with CNN for 4 more

NEW YORK -- CNN/U.S. president Jonathan Klein has re-upped with the cable news channel.

Klein, who joined CNN in December 2004, has reached a deal for a four-year extension. He is responsible for programming at the channel and reports to CNN Worldwide president Jim Walton.

Klein, a veteran producer and network executive, has made his mark at CNN. He canceled the long-running "Crossfire," created "The Situation Room" that has taken over three hours of late afternoon news on CNN and led a team that has won News Emmys and the Peabody Award.

Klein founded the broadband company the FeedRoom after leaving CBS News as exec vp. He also wrote TNT's original film "Buffalo Soldiers."
