Kochendoerfer headed to X Verleih

COLOGNE, Germany -- Martin Kochendoerfer, sales manager and head of scheduling at Munich-based distributor Concorde, is heading to Berlin to head up distribution and marketing for competitor X Verleih.

X Verleih on Tuesday announced that it has appointed Kochendoerfer to the company's board of directors, where he will join Stefan Arndt and Manuela Stehr. While Arndt and Stehr are production specialists, Kochendoerfer will head up distribution, public relations and marketing for X Verleih.

Kochendoerfer replaces longtime X Verleih distribution chief Anatol Nitschke, who jumped to Berlin-based competitor Senator Film earlier this month.

At Concorde, Kochendoerfer helped manage the successful German campaigns for such films as "The Queen" and Woody Allen's "Scoop."

The first titles Kochendoerfer will handle for X Verleih are Bille August's Nelson Mandela biopic "Goodbye Bafana," Marianne Faithfull starrer "Irina Palm" and German-language titles "Late Bloomers" and "Shoppen."
