Kops aboard Summit

To oversee company's publicity campaigns

Eric Kops is joining Summit Entertainment as senior vp publicity, overseeing the company's theatrical and home entertainment publicity campaigns.

He'll step into the new post on Wednesday and report to Summit president of worldwide marketing Nancy Kirkpatrick, with whom he worked during Kirkpatrick's tenure at Paramount.

Kops had been serving as senior vp entertainment at ID Public Relations. During the past 15 years, he has worked in film marketing and publicity at three studios – Columbia/TriStar, MGM/UA and Paramount -- as well as two other public relations firms, MPRM and Robert Solomon & Associates.

At Summit, Kops succeeds Vivian Mayer-Siskind, who spent two years at the company. "It was an exciting experience to be part of a team in establishing a new studio as well as launching the 'Twilight' franchise and 'The Hurt Locker,' Mayer-Siskind said."
