Korda Studios, Colorfront ink Hungarian pact

BERLIN -- Hungarian heavyweights Korda Studios and post-production house Colorfront signed a partnership deal Friday that will see Colorfront set up offices and post facilities on Korda's lot.

The agreement will see the two companies work more closely together on joint projects, with Korda offering Colorfront's digital post services to visiting productions.

Colorfront's Budapest headquarters will be linked up with Korda Studios, located about 15 miles outside of the Hungarian capital, via broadband, allowing high-resolution footage to be passed back and forth.

Colorfront's postproduction operation was launched in September by brothers Mark and Aron Jaszberenyi, who helped develop Autodesk's popular nonlinear digital color grading tool Lustre. Lustre was used on the "Harry Potter" films as well as Peter Jackson's "Lord Of the Rings" trilogy and "King Kong."

Korda's biggest feature project -- Universal's "Hellboy 2: The Golden Army" -- is currently wrapping production.
