Korean film fest in L.A. to kick off March 4

The Korean Film Festival in Los Angeles will kick off March 4 at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood with a screening of "Le Grand Chef II," starring Kim Jung-Eun and Jin-Gu.

The closing award ceremony, set for March 7 at the Laemmle Music Hall in Beverly Hills, will be followed by a presentation of Hur Jin Ho's "A Good Rain Knows," starring Jung Woo-Sung and Gao Yuan Yuan.

KOFFLA executive director Chang-Wha Chung and actor John Cho unveiled details of the upcoming fest on Monday.

KOFFLA will feature more than 60 features and shorts. The line-up includes a retrospective of films by action director Ryoo Seung-Wan. Among special events slated are a master class with cinematographer Kim Hyung-ku at the AFI Conservatory, a surprise screening of an undisclosed Korean masterpiece, and Actorfest KOFFLA, a one-day event for actors and aspiring actors to participate in panels, workshops and meetings.
