Kramer guests at Telluride

Edith R. Kramer will serve as guest director of the Telluride Film Festival, which takes place Aug. 31-Sept. 3.

Kramer, who retired as senior film curator and director of the Pacific Film Archive at the University of California at Berkeley in 2005 after 22 years in those roles, is known for her commitment to film preservation.

"Edith Kramer is one of the great programrs and archivists with deep knowledge and expertise in all areas of film history and one of the few who is equally well versed in the classics of the past and the experimental cinema of the present," fest co-director Tom Luddy said. As guest director, she will collaborate in the fest's programming decisions.
