Kristen Wiig has signed on to star opposite Zach Galifianakis and Owen Wilson in Relativity’s untitled armored car project.

The company has set an Aug. 14, 2015 release for the comedy, which will be directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite).

The project, formerly known as Loomis Fargo, is based on the true story of four dim-witted Southerners who pulled off one of the biggest heists in American history, robbing almost $20 million from a Loomis Fargo armored truck.

Wiig will play the workplace crush of Galifianakis, an unhappy armored car driver. Using her feminine wiles, she gets him to join her and her accomplices in their plan to rob a bank vault, but has no plans to link up with him once the deed is done.

Production will begin July in North Carolina.

Emily Spivey wrote the original script for the project, which now is written by Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer.

Lorne Michaels and John Goldwyn are producing. Executive producing are Danny McBride, Jody Hill, Kevin Messick, Erin David, Ryan Kavanaugh and Tucker Tooley.

Brett Dahl is overseeing the film on behalf of Relativity.

Wiig is one of  the voices for Dreamworks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon 2, which opens June 13. She will next be seen starring with Bill Hader in Skeleton Twins, a drama that Lionsgate and Roadside Attraction will release Sept. 19. She also recently wrapped Welcome to Me, a dramatic comedy that also has Will Ferrell and Linda Cardellini in its cast.

Wiig is repped by UTA, Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment and attorney Karl Austen at Jackoway Austen.
