Ksenia Rappoport hosting Venice ceremonies

Best known to Italian audiences for 'La Sconosciuta'

LOCARNO, Switzerland -- Russian actress Ksenia Rappoport will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the 65th Venice Film Festival, organizers said Wednesday.

Rappoport is best known to Italian audiences for her David di Donatello-winning performance in Giuseppe Tornatore's "La Sconosciuta" (The Unknown).

Rappoport will open the festival on Aug. 27, just before the world premiere of Joel and Ethan Coen's "Burn After Reading," and will also host the Sept. 6 closing ceremony, just before the screening of Tito Schipa's "Orfeo 9."
