KSM takes DVD rights for Uwe Boll's boxer

'Schmeling' still seeking a theatrical distributor

BERLIN -- German DVD distributor KSM has picked up German-language rights for the boxer biopic "Schmeling" from German producer-director Uwe Boll ("Far Cry," "Alone In the Dark").

Former boxing champ Henry Maske has signed on to play Max Schmeling, the legendary German heavyweight champion who fought two historic bouts with Joe Louis in the 1930s.

Boll is targeting a fall 2010 release for "Schmeling," although the film does not yet have a theatrical distributor on board.

In addition to "Schmeling," KSM also picked up German rights on several upcoming titles from Boll, including the video game adaptation "Midnight Chronicles" and the prison drama "Siegburg."
