KTTV's Rick Garcia moves to KCAL

Will serve as co-anchor of weeknight newscasts

Veteran KTTV-TV anchor Rick Garcia has joined another Los Angeles station, CBS-owned KCAL-TV, as co-anchor of the weeknight 8 and 10 p.m. newscasts alongside Pat Harvey.

He started Thursday night.

Garcia spent the past 22 years at KTTV-TV and its Fox-owned sister station KCOP-TV.

He joined KTTV in April 1987 as a weekend anchor and weekday reporter and began serving as the station's weekday sports anchor in April 1988.

In other local Los Angeles TV station news, KTTV is launching a new midday half-hour local program. Beginning Monday, "Good Day L.A. Today," a recap of the best from the station's morning program "Good Day L.A.," will air weekdays from 12:30-1 p.m.
