Kurgan back in Fox fold after side trip to Yahoo

Longtime Fox executive Ira Kurgan is heading back to News Corp. after a stint with Yahoo.

Kurgan will rejoin Fox Broadcasting as chief of network business operations. Before leaving in 2005, Kurgan spent 18 years as a business affairs executive at Fox, rising to president of network business operations.

Kurgan will oversee business operations at the broadcast network, reporting to entertainment chairman Peter Liguori, and also work on new-media deals at Fox Digital Media, which is under the oversight of president Dan Fawcett.

Yahoo hired Kurgan as chief business officer of its media group in May 2005. His responsibilities included dealmaking, partnerships, strategic alliances and all other business and legal affairs.
