Lady Gaga on Sunday surpassed more than 9 million Twitter followers.

The pop singer reportedly becomes the first person to accomplish that feat.

Gaga, who joined Twitter in 2008, didn't tweet about the occasion but did thank her fans for making her single "Born This Way" a trending topic.

"Thank you for trending #BornThisDay monsters!" she wrote. "The sweetest tweet! You are all the present I need in the world. I'll be 25 in about 4 hrs!" (Her birthday is Monday.)

Justin Bieber, who has 8.4 million followers, is expected to hit the 9 million mark in the coming weeks.
