Lake Bell, Ed Helms to Star in Comedy 'What's the Point?'
Bell also wrote and will direct the ensemble comedy.
Lake Bell, the writer-director-actress behind In a World …, has set her next project.
The multi-hyphenate will star alongside The Hangover's Ed Helms in What’s the Point?, which she also wrote and will direct. The film, which is set to begin production next month in Los Angeles, centers on the theory that marriage should be a seven-year contract with an option to renew.
Cold Iron Pictures and The Film Arcade will finance while Bell, Jett Steiger, Miranda Bailey and Amanda Marshall will produce with Jason Beck and Andy Bohn acting as executive producers.
Bell's acting credits include Million Dollar Arm, It's Complicated, and the long-running parody show Childrens Hospital, and she will next be heard in the animated feature The Secret Life of Pets.
Her feature directorial debut, In a World …, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and garnered her an Indie Spirit Nomination for best first screenplay.
Bell is repped by UTA and Burstein. Helms is repped by UTA, Principato Young and Schreck Rose.
