The former Trump adviser will host a show on the cable channel that will fill one of the slots previously occupied by Dobbs.

Former Trump White House adviser Larry Kudlow will be taking over for Lou Dobbs — at least partly — on Fox Business Network.

Kudlow, a longtime CNBC fixture before joining the Trump administration, will host a new show on Fox Business starting Feb. 16. The untitled show will air at 4 p.m. ET weekdays and replay at 7 p.m. The latter slot previously hosted a replay of Lou Dobbs Tonight — which Fox Business abruptly canceled last week.

The network will continue to air Fox Business Tonight in Dobbs' 5 p.m. time period.

"We are immensely proud to add Larry to our incomparable FBN lineup," said Fox Business Network president Lauren Petterson. "His expertise will greatly inform our audience and we look forward to his return to business television."

Said Kudlow, "I am thrilled to be part of this new venture at FBN and for the opportunity to really drill down on the most pressing economic issues impacting everyday Americans."

Dobbs' show, which had aired since 2011, was canceled a day after he, along with Fox News and fellow hosts Maria Bartiromo and Jeanine Pirro, were named as defendants in a $2.7 billion lawsuit filed by voting technology company Smartmatic. The suit, which also names Trump campaign lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell, alleges that the defendants conspired to spread false claims that Smartmatic helped tip the presidential election to Joe Biden. Fox News has called the suit "meritless."

Kudlow's show will, per Fox Business, examine headlines and business trends "with an emphasis on the financial impact facing households and businesses across the country."

Fox News announced that Kudlow was joining the company on Jan. 26, six days after Trump's term in office ended. He served as director of the National Economic Council and assistant for economic policy in the Trump administration.
