Larry Stein in at Liner Yankelevitz firm

Had been eyeing a move since former partner's arrest

Entertainment lawyer Larry Stein has found a new home.

The veteran talent litigator, who has been shopping his services in the wake of partner Marc Dreier's arrest on fraud charges, has joined Los Angeles' Liner Yankelevitz firm, which will now be known as Liner Grode Stein Yankelevitz Sunshine Regenstreif & Taylor.

"Larry is a great catch for us," Liner topper Stuart Liner said of Stein, whose clients include David Duchovny, Eva Longoria and Lionsgate.

Stein bolsters a Liner entertainment practice that already includes corporate dealmaker Josh Grode and talent litigator Joe Taylor. Stein will relocate in February from Santa Monica to Liner's Westwood offices and will bring 1-3 partners with him, although those lawyers have not been determined. Not joining Stein are longtime partner Robert Kahan and Michael Plonsker, who co-chaired the firm's entertainment practice.

"I wish Larry the best of luck," Plonsker said Thursday. "I and other attorneys from the firm will be announcing where we will be practicing very soon."

The implosion of the West Coast outpost of New York-based Dreier Llp comes in the wake of owner Marc Dreier's jailing in December on charges of swindling hedge funds for more than $380 million.

The firm's offices in Santa Monica's Water Garden will shut down Jan 31.
