Laughs carry CBS on Monday

CBS won Monday night despite its overall average dipping this week with a "CSI: Miami" repeat.

The CBS comedies have settled somewhat since their return a few weeks ago but continue to be competitive in their time periods. There's "The Big Bang Theory" (7.7 million viewers, 2.9 rating/8 share), "How I Met Your Mother" (8 million, 3.4/9) and "Two and a Half Men" (13.8 million, 5.3/13). Also, "Rules of Engagement" returned to match its previous average (10.3 million, 4.0/10).

ABC, which won the night in total viewers, was second in 18-49 with "Dancing With the Stars" (17 million, 4.0/11) the second-highest-rated show, though the episode also was the show's lowest-rated.

The CW moved "One Tree Hill" (2.7 million, 1.3/3) to Mondays and gave the network its best performance in the time period in its adults 18-34 demo (2.0/5).
