Lawyer: Phil Spector maintains innocence

Phil Spector's lawyer has filed a memorandum with the judge who will sentence the record producer, saying Spector still maintains he did not kill actress Lana Clarkson and is not responsible for her death.

However, attorney Doron Weinberg said in the document filed Wednesday that he does not dispute that the mandated sentence for second-degree murder is 15 years to life in prison. The attorney asks that additional time for use of a gun be trimmed to three years, rather than the four requested by the prosecution.

Spector is scheduled for sentencing Friday in Los Angeles.

Clarkson died from a gunshot through the mouth at Spector's home in 2003.
