Anthony Davis, LeBron James and Quinn Cook kneel during the National Anthem with VOTE shirts on prior to the start of the game against the Denver Nuggets in Game Three of the Western Conference Finals.

"I don’t go back and forth with anybody. And I damn sure won’t go back and forth with that guy," says the NBA superstar.

LeBron James wants nothing to do with Donald Trump, which means he has zero interest in being drawn into a public feud with the president.

Speaking with the New York Times for a piece published Wednesday, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar said his concentration is on the 2020 election, namely encouraging would-be Black voters to participate.

Coming off his fourth NBA championship, the athlete and actor has been targeted by Trump, far-right commentators and even the Los Angeles County sheriff for being a staunch supporter of Black Lives Matter and outspoken over the numerous police shootings that involved unarmed Black people.

"I don’t go back and forth with anybody. And I damn sure won’t go back and forth with that guy," James said in reference to Trump's recent comments that he is a "hater" and too political.

Not stumping for one candidate this season, James instead is putting his energy into More Than a Vote, the voting rights organization he leads, he told the Times

"It’s simple. We believe that Black people, our community, we’ve been pushed away from our civic duty," James said. "We’ve been fed misinformation for many years. And I’m in a position where I can educate people and, through More Than a Vote, educate people on how important this movement is, and how important their civic duty is. Not only to empower themselves, but to give back to their community as well."

He continued, "It’s something that we’re very passionate about — that I’m very passionate about. I’m happy and honored that I can have these athletes and these influencers and the people that want to be engaged with me as well."
