Lee Chang-Dong and Jerzy Skolimowski To Head Up Critics' Week Juries

Cannes Film Festival

Lee Will Preside over the Grand Jury Prize and Skolimowski's jury will choose the best short film.

South Korean helmer Lee Chang-Dong and Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski will head up the juries at this year’s Critics’ Week Festival de Cannes sidebar, organizers said on Thursday.

Lee will preside over the Nespresso Grand Prize jury and Skolimowski over the Kodak Short Film Discovery Prize jury.

Lee’s Poetry earned the Best Screenplay prize at last year’s Festival de Cannes and star of his 2007 title Secret Sunshine Jeon Do-yeon won the award for Best Actress at the festival that year.

Lee’s jury will feature four international journalists who will vote on the titles that make it into the competition. Skolimowsi first took a promenade through Critics’ Week in 1965 with Walkover.

The Critics Week sidebar, which runs May 12 – 20th in Cannes, will fete its 50th anniversary this year.
