Lee getting WGAE service award

Gail Lee, secretary-treasurer of the WGA East, has been selected to receive the WGAE's Richard B. Jablow Award for service to the guild.

The award, created in 1978 to honor a WGAE founder, is awarded annually to recognize "devoted service." Previous recipients include Warren Leight and James Schamus.

Lee, a writer-producer at CBS News in New York, is serving her fourth term in her current guild office. She also serves on the CBS-WGA negotiating committee and the guild's awards committee.

Lee will be feted Feb. 11, when the WGAE holds its annual awards gala in New York at the Hudson Theatre in the Millennium Broadway Hotel. A simultaneous awards event will be staged by the WGA West at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Century City.
