Leguizamo to star in Mamet's 'Buffalo' revival

NEW YORK -- John Leguizamo is attached to star in a new Broadway revival of David Mamet's "American Buffalo."

The 1976 drama chronicling a trio of revenge-seeking thieves who try to rob a coin shop won the top New York Drama Critics Circle Award and Obie Award in 1977, the year it moved to Broadway.

Its 1983 Broadway revival producer Elliot Martin will produce the new version with Ben Sprecher and Louise Forlenza. Robert Falls, who helmed the 50th anniversary revival of "Death of a Salesman," will direct.

Mamet adapted his play for the 1996 film version with Dustin Hoffman and Dennis Franz.
