Len Blavatnik Invests in 'The Night Of' Producers Bad Wolf
Blavatnik's Access Entertainment has acquired just under 25 percent of the high-end TV upstart led by BBC veterans Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner.
Access Entertainment, the entertainment investment arm of billionaire Len Blavatnik's Access Industries, has taken a 24.9 percent stake in British high-end TV production banner Bad Wolf, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Bad Wolf, which was launched in 2015 by BBC veterans Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner, is based in South Wales (where they both helped reboot Doctor Who) and Los Angeles, and has a major TV adaptation of Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials with the BBC and New Line Cinema on its upcoming slate.
The company also had a production credit on HBO's acclaimed drama The Night Of, thanks largely to Tranter's work as exec producer on the show as she worked on the long-gestating BBC adaptation.
Access Entertainment is led by former BBC TV director Danny Cohen.
