Leonardo DiCaprio finally won an Oscar on Sunday night.

After having been nominated five times previously, the actor went home with the golden statuette for his performance in The Revenant. His previous noms were for 1993's What's Eating Gilbert Grape, 2004's The Aviator, 2006's Blood Diamond and 2013's The Wolf of Wall Street (as a producer and star).

His winning moment dominated social media, with fans showing their support on Twitter and Facebook.
