The Les Arcs European Film Festival will be held from Dec. 5 -12 at the Les Arcs winter sport resort in France.

The fest, designed to attract both the general public and film professionals, will focus on European cinema.

About 50 feature films, mostly French premieres, will be screened. The fest's Focus sidebar will concentrate on films from Hungary.

Hungarian director Istvan Szabo will serve as president of the jury, which will hand out the Crystal Arrow award.

In addition to screening films, the fest will host the Arc 1950 European Co-production Village and Film Schools Village.

The festival was created by the association Revelations Culturelles, whose founding members are: film director Claude Duty (president), Guillaume Calop (general manager), Pierre-Emmanuel Fleurantin (general secretary), Cedric Depierre (finance and partnerships deputy manager) and Jeremy Zelnik (professional meetings deputy manager).

Frederic Boyer is the artistic director of the festival.
