The CBS chief exec and his television personality wife were thanked by the school's president for a "generous gift."

USC's Annenberg Hall media center has been named for Leslie Moonves and Julie Chen after the couple bestowed the university with a "generous gift," the school's president announced on Wednesday.

The CBS chief executive and his television host wife, an alumna of USC, will now have their names adorn the newly titled Julie Chen/Leslie Moonves and CBS Media Center at USC. Details of the gift weren't disclosed.

School president C. L. Max Nikias stated in a news release that the space "is the centerpiece of innovation in a building, the Wallis Annenberg Hall, that represents innovative thinking." The hall officially opened in October of last year.

Moonves, whose contract as CEO at CBS was extended until 2019, had a salary at the network of $66.9 million in 2013, according to a regulatory filing in April of last year.

"After visiting the campus and seeing the impressive Wallis Annenberg Hall for the first time, I was inspired to support my alma mater and prouder than ever to be a Trojan," Chen said in a statement.
