Lindsay Lohan admits to failing drug test

Tweets, 'I'm prepared to face the consequences'

Lindsay Lohan has admitted to failing a court-ordered drug test. The "Machete" actresses said via Twitter, "Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge [Elden] Fox next week as a result."

She continued, "Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn't go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps. This was certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I'm prepared to face the consequences."

Lohan was released from rehab at UCLA's Neuropsychiatric Hospital on Aug. 24. She had been under the facility's care since Aug. 2 as part of her sentence for violating probation stemming from a 2007 DUI case. She served 13 days in jail prior to that.

The actress made fun of her hard-partying ways in a skit at last weekend's MTV Video Music Awards but could be sent to jail for her latest digression.

Lohan said on Twitter, "I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future."

Lohan was on "strict terms of supervised probation" which included random drug tests, psychotherapy sessions, 12-step meetings, and her own "chemical dependency mentor," according to US Weekly.
