Lionsgate, Cherry Lane ink music deal

To exploit Lionsgate's expanding library of film and TV music

TORONTO -- Lionsgate has lined up Cherry Lane Music Publishing, led by veteran record producer Milt Okun, to represent its music catalog as part of a multi-year deal for North America.

As part of their agreement, New York City-based Cherry Lane will exploit Vancouver-based Lionsgate's expanding library of film and TV music and individual songs.

Okun, who founded Cherry Lane in 1960, has produced albums for artists that include John Denver, Placido Domingo, Peter, Paul & Mary and Laura Nyro.

The deal was hammered out by Cherry Lane's Mike Connelly, executive vp of business development, and Keith Hauprich, vp of legal and business affairs, while Lenny Wohl, general manager and executive vp of business affairs negotiated on behalf of Lionsgate Music.
