Petra Nemcova (center) and Frank Giustra meet with Francisca, 93, who is blind and hard of hearing. Her son Juan Ignacio Capilla, who is 79, is her sole caregiver and also cooks and looks after the house. After the hurricanes, he managed to temporarily fix the roof (he was a carpenter for 40 years). All he asks is for some help fixing his roof — not for him, but for his mother. Francisca has lived through many hurricanes, but she says Maria is the worst she remembers. “Maria came to teach us all a lesson — that we have to love and care for one another.” All Hands and Hearts will make her home one of their first projects this month.
