Lionsgate Renews Grindstone Film Slate Deal
The partnership will release upcoming titles like Sylvester Stallone-starrer 'Escape Plan 2' and 'First Kill.'
Lionsgate has renewed its film slate deal with Grindstone Entertainment Group, signing new long-term agreements with Grindstone president and CEO Barry Brooker and principal Stan Wertlieb.
Movies in the new slate deal include titles from Grindstone's long-term deal with Emmett/Furla, such as the John Travolta starrer Gotti, Escape Plan 2 with Sylvester Stallone and the thriller First Kill, which teams Bruce Willis and Hayden Christensen.
Lionsgate, which has eight movie labels in all driving its film business, last reupped its deal with Grindstone Entertainment Group and Emmett/Furla Films in 2015. Next up for a Lionsgate release from the Grindstone/Emmett/Furla collaboration is Michael Apted's Unlocked from producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and starring Noomi Rapace and Orlando Bloom.
"Lionsgate is a major creative force around the world, and we're proud to continue adding a robust pipeline of titles to their blockbuster slate," Brooker and Wertlieb said in a statement.
Recent Grindstone releases include the Arnold Schwarzenegger starrer Aftermath; Heist, starring Robert De Niro; crime drama Imperium with Daniel Radcliffe; and Bruce Willis' Marauders.
