Lionsgate re-ups with Eda Kowan

She becomes senior vp acquisitions and co-productions

Longtime Lionsgate acquisitions executive Eda Kowan has signed a new three-year contract with the company to become its senior vp acquisitions and co-productions. She will report to the department's president, Jason Constantine.

Kowan has been with Lionsgate since 2000 and has been involved in acquiring such completed such as "Religulous," "Away From Her," "Saw" and "The Descent" and negative pickups such as the forthcoming "New in Town" and "Daybreakers." She also supervises market and festival preparation for the company.

"Eda has been an invaluable asset as Lionsgate has grown its business in both acquisitions and co-productions," Constantine said of Kowan's promotion. "By championing titles ranging from 'Conan the Barbarian' to 'Religulous,' she's helped cement Lionsgate's identity as a studio for entertaining, diverse and daring movies."

Kowan started in production and film sales before moving into acquisitions at Trimark, which Lionsgate acquired in 2000.
