'Living' closes in 20 territories

COPENHAGEN -- Roy Andersson's "You, the Living," which launched at May's Festival de Cannes, has been snapped up by more than 20 territories, according to sales company Coproduction Office.

"International distributors received the film with a real enthusiasm and lots of laughter," said Coproduction CEO Philippe Bober, who also co-produced the film. " 'You, the Living' is extraordinary and unique in that it mixes humor with seriousness, which is why it is aimed at a wider audience than Roy's previous film 'Songs From the Second Floor.' "

Territories closing on "You, the Living" include Brazil (Circuito Cinearte), Bulgaria (Big Bang), the Baltic countries (AS Tallinfilm), Finland (Cinemamondo), France (les Films du Losange), Germany (Neue Visionen), Greece (Ama Films), Holland (Filmmuseum), Hungary (Budapest Film), Italy (Lady Film), Japan (Style Jam), Poland (Gutek Film), Romania (Glob Com Media), Russia-CIS (Maywin), South Korea (Sponge), Spain (Aquelarre), Switzerland (Look Now) and the U.K. (Artificial Eye).
