Lindsay Lohan's biopic of Elizabeth Taylor lured 3.5 million viewers to Lifetime and caused an explosion of Hollywood reactions on Twitter -- and (really!) not everyone was thoroughly disgusted.
FROM IRONIC ENJOYMENT...
"I'm thoroughly enjoying and consistently amused by Liz & Dick. The haters went overboard on this one."
-- Bret Easton Ellis, writer of the upcoming The Canyons, which stars Lohan
"@lindsaylohan you did a beautiful job on Liz & Dick, Let no one bring u down, Liz didnt, they always try to knock the greats down a few pegs."
-- Lady Gaga, singer and provocatrix
"The day after 'Liz & Dick' I just want to say: She's already down. Lets not kick her."
-- Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Modern Family actor
"I get the feeling the phrase 'It is what it is' was said a lot in the editing room."
-- Aimee Mann, musician
" 'This is sad bad, not fun bad.' -- Everyone liveTweeting #lizanddick, to themselves about 10 minutes ago."
-- Patton Oswalt, actor and comedian
"Trying to pass Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor is like trying to pass used toilet paper for a silk handkerchief."
-- Firooz Zahedi, photographer and frequent Taylor collaborator
... TO TOTAL TRAVESTY
