LL Cool J on 'Lip Sync Battle' Contestants: "You Can't Lose"

"I just want [our contestants] to play and have a good time and give fans around the world an opportunity to see them in a different light."

“Our contestants [on Lip Sync Battle] for the most part, are A-list celebrities," LL Cool J tells The Hollywood Reporter during the Reality TV Roundtable. "I just want to make sure they have a good time. I want people to see them in a different light, but at the same time I want to be respectful of that. I don’t want them to walk away feeling bummed out like, ‘Oh my God, I just sacrificed my entire career.'"

He tells THR, "I just want them to play and have a good time and give fans around the world, people around the world, an opportunity to them in a different light, in a way they've never seen them before."

The contestants on Lip Sync Battle are natural competitors, but the host explains there really is no losing.

"When you’re dealing with people at a certain level, obviously, they want to win. Everybody here’s a very successful person. Successful people like to win. They’re not in it to lose, at anything."

"They don’t realize that people enjoy them so much and are just so happy to see them, there is no loser. People are just so happy to see their personalities, to see how much fun they’re having. You can’t lose."
