Los Angeles Film Festival to Screen MTV's 'Scream' Series

The fest also has scheduled master classes with Pete Docter, Maryann Brandon and Mary Jo Markey, and Mark Isham.

The Los Angeles Film Festival will feature a gala screening of the new TV series Scream. Produced by MTV and Dimension TV, Scream is based on the film franchise of the same name and stars Willa Fitzgerald, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Carlson Young, Amadeus Serafini, John Karna, Connor Weil, Tracy Middendorf and Jason Wiles. It will be the first time the fest has allocated one of its gala slots to a TV premiere.

Festival organizers also announced Tuesday that the fest will devote another gala to Seoul Searching, directed by Benson Lee and starring Justin Chon and Jessika Van, about high schoolers at a South Korean government-sponsored camp in 1986.

The festival additionally announced that this year's Master Classes will include a master class in animation with Pete Docter, director of the upcoming Inside Out; one on editing with Maryann Brandon and Mary Jo Markey; and another on composition with composer Mark Isham.
