Lotus Entertainment, Sourian Productions Pick Up Spec 'Man of War'

New York-based playwright Joseph Sousa wrote the thriller about a Navy Seal who escapes terrorist captors in the rugged Carpathian mountains.

Lotus Entertainment and Sourian Productions are partnering on the spec script Man of War, a thriller about a Navy Seal who escapes his terrorist captors.

Written by New York-based playwright Joseph Sousa, the script is described as in the same vein as Behind Enemy Lines or First Blood. It follows an elite Navy Seal who, after escaping from capture, must use all his skills to survive in Europe's Carpathian mountains in the dead of winter.

Mark Sourian is producing. Lotus' Bill Johnson, Jim Seibel, Ara Keshishian and D.J. Gugenheim will executive produce, along with Jessica Jordan. CAA is handling domestic sales while Lotus will handle international sales.

Both an actor and a writer, Sousa wrote and starred in the play Teeth of the Sons, which won two Drammy Awards for best original play and best actor for Sousa. He's repped by CAA.

Sourian's upcoming slate includes an executive producing credit on Vince Vaughn's Delivery Man and producing upcoming actioner Need for Speed. Lotus recently had Arnold Schwarzenegger board Black List script Maggie and bought spec Revelations, by Hernany Perla.
