Louis Fournier joins Tribal Nova

Named vp business development

TORONTO -- Former Cinar executive Louis Fournier has joined Canadian interactive content producer Tribal Nova as vp business development.

Fournier was head of distribution at Cinar, the troubled Canadian animation house, until 2004 when it was sold to a consortium led by former Nelvana co-founder Michael Hirsh and renamed the Cookie Jar.

Cinar almost collapsed in 2000 under the weight of lawsuits and police inquiries into the business practices of its co-founders Ronald Weinberg and Micheline Charest.

Fournier will now oversee content acquisition and co-productions for KidStudio, Tribal Nova's online interactive entertainment platform for kids.
