Jennifer Garner, Kristen Bell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and other stars are also offering free tickets in support of the landmark gay teen romance film.

Matt Bomer is buying out an AMC theater in his hometown of Spring, Texas so that residents can watch Love, Simon. The American Horror Story and Magic Mike star, who publicly acknowledged his sexuality for the first time in a 2012 speech in which he thanked his husband Simon Halls, has been an outspoken fan of the movie.

Love, Simon follows a gay teenager who struggles to come out to his friends and family after he falls for an anonymous stranger he knows only as "Blue." Released on March 16, it's the first mainstream gay teen romance movie to hit American theaters and one of the first queer movies to receive a PG-13 rating.

After attending the Love, Simon premiere in Los Angeles on March 13, Matt Bomer wrote on his Instagram, "I’m so happy that a generation of young people will have this to watch and realize that #loveisloveisloveislove. Please support this important film."

Bomer appears to want to give the film an extra push at the box office. "Please come see @lovesimonmovie in my hometown of Spring, TX for free!" he wrote on Thursday night. "@halls.simon and I bought out the whole screening for you. This is an important movie, and a really good one. I know you’ll love it so come watch for free this Sunday!"

The viewing will happen on Sunday, March 25 at 4 p.m.

Updated 3/30 at 2:00 p.m. to include other celebrities offering free tickets.

More stars are buying out theaters to help promote Love, Simon, which has earned a coveted A+ CinemaScore grade among movie-goers. Among them are Neil Patrick Harris, who wrote on Instagram that he was moved to offer tickets after seeing other celebrities do it: "So my husband David (@dbelicious) and I enjoyed @lovesimonmovie so much, we wanted to pay it forward. Others are doing this, and I’m so on board."

Kristen Bell invoked the film's social importance while announcing that she too was buying up seats in a Minneapolis movie theater: "Love, Simon is a KNOCKOUT. There are so many important stories that don’t get made. I am so grateful this one did."

This week, many more celebrities have joined in. Among the stars buying out theaters are Love, Simon actress Jennifer Garner, YouTuber Tyler Oakley, soccer star Robbie Rogers (who is married to Love, Simon director Greg Berlanti), songwriter Benjamin Pasek, soccer star Sacha Kljestan, Blindspot creator Martin Gero, Girls actor Andrew Rannells, and Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
