Lynette Howell Taylor, Bruna Papandrea Team for Cinderella Reimagining 'Stepsister'
Lynette Howell Taylor's 51 Entertainment and Bruna Papandrea's Made Up Stories, the producers behind 'A Star Is Born' and 'Big Little Lies,' will develop the fantasy book as a feature.
The producers behind A Star Is Born and Big Little Lies are teaming to bring a retelling of a fairy tale classic to the screen.
Lynette Howell Taylor’s 51 Entertainment and Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories will develop Jennifer Donnelly’s Cinderella reimagining, Stepsister, as a feature.
Emma Frost has been tapped to adapt Donnelly's YA fantasy book that is told through the point-of-view of one of Cinderella's stepsisters. After being cast out of the kingdom, Isabelle is forced to examine the path she’s been pushed toward and must try to make amends and redefine her version of strength and beauty.
Taylor and Samantha Housman will produce for 51 Entertainment, while Papandrea and Steve Hutensky will produce for Made Up Stories. Jeanne Snow will exec produce.
Made Up Stories will soon release Jennifer Kent's period feature The Nightingale and Lupita Nyong'o starrer Little Monsters. 51 Entertainment is in postproduction on Wander Darkly, starring Sienna Miller and Diego Luna, and Mark Ruffalo's HBO limited series I Know This Much Is True.
Frost, whose credits include Shameless, The Man in the High Castle and The Spanish Princess, is repped by Curtis Brown and Morris Yorn.
Donnelly is repped by Writers House and WME; Papandrea is repped by WME.
