Macfarlane, Cherry set for WGA benefit

Seth MacFarlane ("Family Guy"), Marc Cherry ("Desperate Housewives") and Darren Star ("Sex and the City") are among a panel of writers/producers who will discuss "That's Not Funny! Turning Life's Little Tragedies Into Comedy," a benefit for the WGA Foundation and Industry Support Fund presented by Humanitas, on Feb. 18 at the WGA Theater in Beverly Hills.

Rob Lotterstein ("The War at Home") will moderate. The evening includes five-time Humanitas Prize winner Gary David Goldberg ("Family Ties") signing his recent autobiography, "Sit, Ubu, Sit: How I Went From Brooklyn to Hollywood with the Same Woman, the Same Dog, and a Lot Less Hair."
