Madonna Pharrell Grammy Awards - H 2014
Sunday night's consensus: Madonna missed the mark and Pharrell's headgear resembled Hogwarts' famous Sorting Hat.
This year's Grammys saw plenty of trends: a bevy of braids, nude nails, cocktail rings and, of course, hats -- one in particular that sparked its own Twitter handle.
Here's what fashion critics had to say about the red carpet and performance ensembles, and it seems the experts are in agreement -- Madonna looked weird, and Beyonce and Jay Z stole the show.

On Beyonce and Jay Z's opening performance:
No wonder Beyonce didn't walk the carpet. She didn't want to be around all that is BASIC because she is FLAWLESS.
