Magnolia pins sr. vp stripes on Quinn, Reichert
EmptyMagnolia Pictures has promoted Tom Quinn and Jeff Reichert to senior vps overseeing all major responsibilities involving the slate of Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban's indie distributor.
The execs will report to president Eamonn Bowles at Magnolia's New York headquarters.
Quinn was head of acquisitions, Reichert head of publicity and marketing.
Reichert, co-founder and editor of the online film journal Reverse Shot, joined Magnolia a year after its 2001 launch. He has overseen PR and marketing for three Oscar-nominated docus: "Capturing the Friedmans," "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room" and "Jesus Camp." Before joining Magnolia, he worked at New York-based indies Cowboy Pictures and Shooting Gallery.
Before coming to Magnolia in 2004, Quinn was vp acquisitions at Samuel Goldwyn Films, where he acquired the acclaimed "Raising Victor Vargas" and "Super Size Me." Before that, he was a publicist at Dennis Davidson Associates in Los Angeles.
His Magnolia pickups include "Woman Thou Art Loosed," "The Host" and "District B13."
"These promotions recognize the leadership and intelligent decisionmaking prowess that both have exhibited," Bowles said.
