Maker Studios Executive Joins UTA Digital Department

Sam Wick will focus on building new businesses for UTA and its clients.

UTA has brought on a new digital media executive. 

The agency has tapped Maker Studios executive Sam Wick to build new businesses for UTA and its clients in the digital media department, it was announced Tuesday.

Wick joins UTA from Maker Studios, where he had served as executive vp and general manager of enterprise. During his nearly five years with the company, Wick oversaw enterprise product and licensing and corporate and business development. Prior to Maker, he was senior vp market and programming at Myspace, where he oversaw programming, editorial, marketing, music, entertainment, video and production. Wick has also worked at AOL, and Sony. 

"When I met Sam I was immediately struck by his entrepreneurial spirit and background," said UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer. "Today, our clients are looking for entrepreneurial representation, and Sam will add greatly to our capabilities."

UTA has place an emphasis on its digital media department, investing in startups, working with social media star clients and building businesses. It recently worked with Simon & Schuster's Atria publishing group to launch the Keywords Press imprint.
