Mandate picks up Danny McBride's 'Bullies'

Rough House to produce comedy

Mandate has picked up “Bullies,” an original comedy project from Danny McBride to be written by "Yes Man" scribes Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul.

Rough House, run by McBride, David Gordon Green, Jody Hill and Matt Reilly, will produce.

The deal makes “Bullies” the fourth project Rough House has set up since signing a first-look deal with Mandate in December 2009.

The comedy centers on two brothers who have bullied people their whole lives and finally get what is coming to them.

Mandate president Nathan Kahane will executive produce and Lawrence Grey will oversee the project for Mandate.

Mogel and Paul, repped by UTA and Principato Young Entertainment, wrote the comedy spec “Himelfarb,” which is set up at Warner Bros. They recently wrote an animated spec pilot titled “Allen Gregory” for Fox TV which they co-created with Jonah Hill. The show was picked up by the Fox Network.
