Maple Pictures acquires 'Little White Lies'

Guillaume Canet's film screened at Toronto on Sept. 11

TORONTO -- Canadian indie distributor Maple Pictures has acquired the Canadian rights to Guillaume Canet's "Little White Lies" (Les petits mouchoirs) from Europacorp.

The French "Big Chill"-style comedy bowed at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 11 with a gala at Roy Thomson Hall.

A 2011 theatrical release is planned by Toronto-based Maple, Lionsgate's Canadian partner, for the Marion Cotillard-starrer.

The distribution deal was hammered out by John Bain for Maple and Pascal Degove for Europacorp.
