Margot Robbie, Chris Hemsworth Battle to Be the "Best Aussie" on 'Ellen'
During Wednesday’s episode, the two actors answered comical trivia questions about Australia.
Tensions ignited between Australia-bred actors Margot Robbie and Chris Hemsworth on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday.
“Since Margot Robbie and Chris Hemsworth are both Australian, we’re gonna play a trivia game,” DeGeneres announced, dubbing the challenge “Ellen’s Australian Boxers.”
Donning kangaroo onesies and oversized boxing gloves supplied by the daytime host, the actors had to buzz in and answer Australia-themed trivia questions. “Whoever gets the most right is the best Australian, besides my wife Portia de Rossi,” DeGeneres joked.
Challenges included naming an Olivia Newton John song, the birthplace of Nicole Kidman (Robbie and Hemsworth were both surprised to learn the answer was Hawaii), doing their best Crocodile Dundee impression, and identifying two Australians in a photograph, which turned out to be the wax figures of Hemsworth and his brother, Liam.
“The pretty hungover versions of the two of us,” Hemsworth joked about the wax figures. DeGeneres then asked Robbie who she would choose between Hemsworth and his brother. “Um, Liam,” Hemsworth joked, leaving Robbie to agree because she’s worked with the younger brother twice before.
DeGeneres then asked Hemsworth to name his home address, only for the Avengers: Infinity War star to smile and remain silent. The daytime host also quizzed the pair on which of her neighbors “may run for president in 2020,” with Hemsworth correctly naming Oprah Winfrey.
