Marilyn Manson Details Onstage Injury: "The Pain Was Excruciating"

The rocker has also rescheduled a bunch of canceled tour dates.

After his injury mid-show at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, Marilyn Manson has now shared details of what occurred.

In an interview with Yahoo, Manson said he wasn’t attempting to climb the prop guns, but rather just grabbing onto the metal bars propping them up. This backfired, with the guns falling on him without Manson being able to move out of the way quickly enough.

“I'm not sure what I hit my head on, but it did fall onto my leg and break the fibula in two places," he says. "The pain was excruciating."

In the performance, Manson was taken off of the stage in a stretcher after not being able to stand up. While in a New York City hospital, he had a plate and 10 screws inserted into the leg bone and another one through his ankle bone. Days before this injury, Manson sprained his other ankle while performing at Pittsburgh’s Stage AE.

Following the New York injury, Manson canceled numerous tour dates so he could recover at home in Los Angeles. However, he recently announced a reworked tour itinerary, with most of the canceled shows rescheduled. Find the new lineup below.

He’s out supporting his tenth studio album, Heaven Upside Down, which dropped on Oct. 6.
