Get the Look, Digital Starlet Edition: Lara Schoenhals as Marilyn Monroe

Brigitte Sire

To achieve a Marilyn Monroe-inspired look for "White Girl Problems" author Lara Schoenhals aka Babe Walker, beauty genius Christina Guerra defined her eyes with cat-eye eyeliner and penciled her lips with shades of red.

I wanted to emulate a softer, less polished, but still gorgeous Marilyn Monroe circa The Misfits for Babe Walker's (nee Lara Schoenhals) look.

I started out with Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer ($48) to even out her skin, followed by Kevyn Aucoin Creamy Glow in Pravella ($26), a soft petal pink. To give her an Old Hollywood-style arched eyebrow, I used Kevyn Aucoin Precision Brow Pencil in Ash Blonde ($26).

I gave her eyes definition and color using Kevyn Aucoin The Essential Eye Shadow Palette - 1 ($58), a collection of neutral ivories, taupes and browns. I then put a thicker cat-eye on her lids with Kevyn Aucoin The Precision Liquid Liner in Basic Black ($34), to give her eyes that classic Monroe up-tilt. Her eyes were finished off with Kevyn Aucoin The Essential Mascara ($30) in Defining Black.

Her lips were colored with Kevyn Aucoin The Flesh Tone Lip Pencil in Cerise ($25), a cool red, and topped with Kevyn Aucoin Expert Lip Color in Carliana ($35), a shiny true red.
