Mario Batali joins 'Bitter Feast'

Will play restaurant owner in film

Chef Mario Batali has joined the cast of the comic thriller "Bitter Feast," currently filming in Manhattan and Woodstock, N.Y.

Batali will play the owner of a restaurant in the feature, written and directed by Joe Maggio for MPI Media Group and Glass Eye Pix.

The film stars James LeGros as a New York chef who takes revenge on a critic, played by "Humpday's" Josh Leonard.

Larry Fessenden is producing. Fessenden and MPI recently teamed up to produce Ti West's "House of the Devil," which is slated for a fall release from Magnolia pictures.
